Story Behind the Art:
'My name is Luis Lopez Cordon and I was born in Guatemala in 1974. I create uniforms, bags, backpacks and much more in my workshop. Based on principles and values like perseverance, faith and integrity, I was able to begin this venture around 2015. I create apparel and accessories made from Guatemala's traditional handwoven fabrics. I became interested because this beautiful textile tradition is in danger of disappearing and I'd like to leave a legacy with what I create. I'd also like to keep fighting tirelessly for this artisan culture so that our textile traditions are never lost. Making apparel helps create many jobs - from weaving the fabrics to sewing the clothes. I love it when shoppers are happy with my designs. I also want to contribute to our community by creating jobs and make Guatemalan arts known internationally.'
