Story Behind the Art:
'My name is Luis Lopez Cordon and I was born in Guatemala in 1974. I create uniforms, bags, backpacks and much more in my workshop. Based on principles and values like perseverance, faith and integrity, I was able to begin this venture around 2015. I create apparel and accessories made from Guatemala's traditional handwoven fabrics. I became interested because this beautiful textile tradition is in danger of disappearing and I'd like to leave a legacy with what I create. I'd also like to keep fighting tirelessly for this artisan culture so that our textile traditions are never lost. Making apparel helps create many jobs from weaving the fabrics to sewing the clothes. I love it when shoppers are happy with my designs. I also want to contribute to our community by creating jobs and make Guatemalan arts known internationally.'
